Towards Using i* for Modeling Mega-Urban Processes
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we consider the use of i* for modelling social networks in the context of mega-urbanization and water resources. In particular, we discuss, mostly by way of example, issues that are special to this domain such as the need to explicitly model nature or a new kind of agent evolution. Another important issue is the usability of i* by scientists from different disciplines to model mega-urban scenarios without any background in programming or mathematical models.

Urban Sustainability Versus Green-Washing—Fallacy and Reality of Urban Regeneration in Downtown Seoul
This paper examines the planning paradigm shift related to the contested “urban renaissance” mega-project in Downtown Seoul (Korea). Similar to other global cities, over the last few decades, different mega-projects have been successfully implemented in Seoul. These projects have been considered engines for urban renewals and transformation. This paper builds on the analysis of the failure and ...
متن کاملConstructive Dynamisms of Large-Scale Urban Projects by the Space Political Economy Approach; a Case Study of Mashhad Metropolis
Aims: The development of large-scale construction projects has transformed the shape of cities towards specific objectives and based on economic and political perspectives that dominate policy-making and planning in cities. The purpose of the research was to study and analyze the spatiality of Mashhad construction mega-projects and to explain the constructive forces and dynamisms of these proje...
متن کاملSpatiotemporal Analysis of Indian Mega Cities
Urbanization is arguably the most dramatic form of highly irreversible land transformation. While urbanization is a worldwide phenomenon, it is exceptionally dynamic in India, where unprecedented urban growth rates have occurred over the last 30 years. In this uncontrolled explosive situation city planning lacks of data and information to measure, monitor, understand urban sprawl processes. The...
متن کاملMeasurements in a highly polluted Asian mega city: observations of aerosol number size distribution, modal parameters and nucleation events
Diurnal variation of number size distribution (particle size 3–800 nm) and modal parameters (geometric standard deviation, geometric mean diameter and modal aerosol particle concentration) in a highly polluted urban environment was investigated during October and November 2002 in New Delhi, India. Continuous monitoring for more than two weeks with the time resolution of 10 min was conducted usi...
متن کاملModeling of Aerosol Vertical Profiles Using GIS and Remote Sensing
The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) by climatologists, environmentalists and urban planners for three dimensional modeling and visualization of the landscape is well established. However no previous study has implemented these techniques for 3D modeling of atmospheric aerosols because air quality data is traditionally measured at ground points, or from satell...
